Since our client didn’t want the disruption of relocating with a young family, they opted for a loft conversion to maximise their space. After approaching us with their plans, we noticed that the proposed design would have required significant remedial work to the ground and first floors—something the client was eager to avoid, especially with a young family.
Extra Space Developments had already completed four new build loft conversions on a variety of developments, so we knew exactly what was achievable and how fast we could turn this Knaresborough loft conversion around.
To meet the client’s requirements, we re-designed the conversion to distribute the additional load onto the gable walls, using large steel beams spliced into three sections.
Sticking with the architect’s layout plans, we carefully positioned the new loft stairs directly above the existing staircase, ensuring that no space was compromised on the first floor.
In the converted space, we created a master bedroom complete with a custom ensuite bathroom and bespoke loft wardrobes. To ensure plenty of natural light, we installed six MK06 Velux windows.
To enhance the property’s curb appeal, we added a double dormer into the front elevation. This transformation was made possible by following the proper planning permission process.
