The goal for this Bishopthorpe loft conversion was clear from the beginning: to create a private space for the parents to escape. They needed their own quiet space, away from their teenage children and the hustle and bustle of family life.
We were recommended to the family by a neighbour – one of our happy customers. The clients had seen their finished Velux loft conversion, so they already knew that Extra Space Developments would do a great job.
They told us of their plans – a similar Velux loft conversion, with some slight changes to suit their own requirements – and we set about transforming the top floor of their new build house into a brand new master suite.
What We Did:
Overall this was a simple build. The original staircase was in the middle of the house, so the client didn’t have to lose any further space. However, we did have to re-locate the unvented cylinder into the loft to make way for the new stairs.
We installed a Velux Quattro window system, giving the room plenty of natural light. Our clients had requested a large en-suite, with a bath, large shower, sink and toilet – so we also installed a Velux Dormer system in the bathroom to give them more head room when getting out of the tub.
The wardrobes were custom-made to fit the pitched angle of the ceiling and give a truly luxurious finish to the room.
